One of the things I like about this shot is that there are actually eleven players directly involved in it. Half the players on the field were taking part. I also liked the vivid colors with the blue and greens being offset by the whites. It's hard to get a clean shot of a tackle with this many players involved. No one was blocking the shot. 1/800...

Great Hold!

This shot was inspired by a comment a holder made on the sidelines. Someone had commented, "great catch" or "great block" or something on that order. The holder said, "that's something a holder never hears. If the kick doesn't go through they might blame the kicker or the holder but if it does go through no one ever says, great hold!" I was looking to illustrate Michael's personality. The drums for sure, so I photographed him at Ellis Drum Shop in St. Paul where he teaches drumming. The center image I captured in Sedona, Arizona. Michaels rather an artist too so I thought he might appreciate something a little different.
